In the rainy season, new energy owners and charging equipment manufacturers worry about whether the quality of outdoor charging piles will be affected by wind and rain, causing security threats. In order to dispel the worries of users and make users feel relieved to purchase charging piles, each charging pile enterprise shall manufacture products in accordance with the standards such as Nb / T 33002-2018 - technical conditions for AC charging pile of electric vehicles. In the standard, the protection level test is an essential type test (type test refers to the structural test that must be done in the design stage).

Project challenges

The protection grade of new energy charging pile is generally up to IP54 or p65, so it is necessary to conduct all-round rain test on the charging pile, and all surfaces need water spray detection. However, due to the appearance size of the charging pile (mainly due to the height problem), if the conventional pendulum rain method (even the largest swing tube size) is adopted, it can not achieve all the water pouring. Moreover, the bottom area of the swing tube rain test device is large, and the space needed to operate should reach 4 × 4 × 4 meters. The appearance reason is only one of them. The bigger problem is that the weight of the charging pile is large. The ordinary charging pile can reach 100kg, and the larger one can reach 350kg. The bearing capacity of ordinary turntable can not meet the requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to customize a large-area, load-bearing and deformation free stage, and realize uniform rotation during the test. These are not small problems for some inexperienced manufacturers.
